This
Airport Improvement Program (A.I.P.) redesign project was successfully
constructed per FAA specifications with an extremely aggressive schedule.
The project encompassed the complete removal and reinstallation of
the realigned runway/taxiway/apron system over a 228 acre municipal airport
site.
Grading tolerances in all pavement
sections (+/-) .02 ft.
Project completed
with ZERO recordable injuries (over
62,000 hours).
Installed over 1,370,389 SF of runway consisting of:
Overlot cut to fill - 1,200,000 CY (12,500 MH; 12 machines; 4 months)
Asphalt paving installation - 70,000 TN
Hauled/installed surcharge pile to reduce runway settling - 140,000 CY
Installation of geotextile fabric - 2,250,000 SF performed by manual crew
Installation of under-drain pipe - 36,000 LF (6.8 miles)
Installed Storm drainage system - (all sizes) - 2,800 LF
Fine Grading of over 5,500,00 SF of infield and surrounding areas.
